You will not only love eating it, but also enjoy cooking this quick snack. Shami kebabs are succulent minced chicken/lamb with chana dal with spicy masala filling inside and crispy fried on the outside. Perfect for a dinner party during winters, it can be served with coriander or mint chutney.<br /><br />Ingredients:<br /><br />• Channa dal - 1 cup( soaked)<br />• Coriander leaves - 1/2 bunch<br />• Egg - 1 number<br />• Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon.<br />• Dry Red chillies - 4-5<br />• Chicken (boneless) - 500 grams<br />• Mint leaves - 1/2 bunch.<br />• Oil - 4 teaspoons.<br />• Onions - 2 cups<br />• Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon<br />• Salt to taste.<br />• Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon<br />• Turmeric powder - 1 pinch.<br />• Water - 2 cups <br />• Cinnamon Sticks - 2 small<br />• Caraway Seeds - 1 tsp<br />• Black Pepper Corns - <br />• Cloves - 3-4<br />• Bay Leaf - 2<br />• Coriander powder - 1/ tsp<br />• Ginger and garlic cloves<br />• Lemon Juice <br /><br />Method:<br />1. Soak 1 cup of chana dal for at least 30 minutes. <br />2. In a pressure cooker heat oil and add cumin seeds, cloves, black peppercorns, cinnamon, dry red chili. Saute for 1-2 minutes.<br />3. Now add the soaked chana dal and mix thoroughly.<br />4. Add the boneless chicken and salt. Bring to simmer, adding required quantity of water. <br />5. Pressure Cook it for up to 2 whistles.<br />6 Cook until all the water has evaporated and chicken is tendered.<br />7. Let it cool for some time and then grind all the ingredients to a thick paste.<br />8. In the paste add chopped onions, garam masala. coriander powder, coriander leaves, and mint leaves. Mix all the ingredients to combine well.<br />9. Now add one egg liquid and mix thoroughly.<br />10. Using your palm make the kebabs of any desired shape and size, generally flat round shape.<br />11. shallow fry the kababs, till golden on both sides.<br />12. Shami Kabab is ready, remove it into a serving plate.<br />13. You can serve the kebabs hot with chutney of your choice.
